The big event!

Year 6 children have had a busy week getting ready for our charity fundraising event! The children have been working hard, expanding their knowledge about the heart and the valuable work undertaken by the British Heart Foundation.

The event itself was a fantastic experience enjoyed by all who attended. The children were on hand to share their learning, including:

·       -    Non-chronological reports about the heart
·       -    Skipping skills
·       -    Taking the pulse (resting and after exercise)
·       -    The British Heart Foundation
·       -    The science of the circulatory system and blood

Our cereal bar tasting station was a huge success – the most popular option was the carrot! After school, Mrs Durrant kindly counted up all the donations and we made a grand total of £67 pounds! Well done to all those involved.

Finally, we decided we had kept the children in suspense for long enough and announced our first set of prefects for the year! We would like to take this opportunity to congratulate those who were successful – we are confident you will all set an excellent example for the other children and will be a great help as you start to take on additional responsibilities around the school. We’ll be an eye out for potential future candidates who will expand our team of prefects in the new year…
