This week, Yr 6  have started revision groups for our S.A.T.s tests in May. In science we have been working with electrical circuits in groups. We have been investigating the source of light from graphite. We decided to make it a fair test by shutting all the blinds and turning off all the lights. In P.E we did silent dancing with chairs pretending to wait for a train. We turned it into a dance routine with a beat of 4 and 8. We enjoyed the all the lessons so far this week.👍

electrical circuits, gadgets and computers

Thursday 23rd January 2020 We had a brilliant start to the week by making timelines about the history of computing. On Tuesday, we were making electric circuits. We had to make the light bulb light up using graphite as a conductor. We then measured the brightness and moved the clipps 1cm away each time. We found out about booster sessions and are maths groups aswell. More about are gadgets next week. Bye Bye

Enjoying learning!

This week, we have continued to read our mystery book. We had to do a roll on the wall about the main character, Alex. A roll on the wall is when you describe a character; using feelings on the inside and description on the outside. We have also been doing some end of KS2 tests, preparing us for our SATs later in the year. In PE, we have been dancing and had a taste tester of tennis. As mathematicians, we have been learning about converting FDP (fractions, decimals and percentages). We are all enjoying learning new things and working hard.

TOMORROW'S WORLD.  On Monday we investigated the robbery of the Staff-room's biscuits who was stolen by Miss Ship.                                             In math we have been learning FDP which means fractions, decimals and percentages  We are really enjoying are new term and cant wait to see what comes to the future 👍

Secret Agent Snow Leopards...sssshhh!

This half term, we have started a new topic called 'Tomorrow's World'. We came into the classroom on Monday to find a briefcase from MI6. Inside, there were clues and evidence to help us find the culprit of a crime that had happened in our school - someone had eaten ALL of the biscuits!!! We cracked a code; searched for secret messages and investigated fingerprints which lead us to a package (guarded by lasers). We discovered that it was Miss Shipp who was guilty of this crime. In English, we planned and wrote our letters of application to MI6 to persuade them to give us the job of a secret agent. We explained our reasons why we think we would be a super spy, using lists including semi-colons, commas and colons. As readers, we have started exploring a new book in which the main character - Alex Rider - is trying to find about his uncle's mysterious death. As scientists, we made periscopes: we did this by using a cardboard box and putting mirrors inside so
