Home Schooling
Below we have outlined guidance for home
learning for children in year 6 at Mulbarton Primary.
To support your child in keeping up with
learning, please have a look at the year 6 knowledge organiser as well as the
curriculum map, for the 2nd half of the spring term, all on our
school website (Our School – Our curriculum – scroll down).
Children:
Below are some
activities we would like you to do whilst you are not at school. You should aim
to do at least 1 maths, 1 English and 1 science activity per day. Choose from: the activities assigned to you
on Education city; the links below and things that you know you need practise
at (using: https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/levels/zbr9wmn or https://www.mathsisfun.com/).
You should also do
at least one other activity that interests you (see links at the bottom).
As well as this
you need to make sure you read, daily. (You can use bug club if you don’t have
many books at home). You should also make sure that you take part in some
exercise every day: current advice is that it is perfectly fine for you to be
in your garden – alone if you are self-isolating. If you need to exercise
indoors then you could use some of the PE links below.
It’s also a good
idea, if possible, to use your time at home to do some art activities, learn
some cooking skills with an adult, create models out of waste items and
generally get creative. You should have a copy of the creative home learning
tasks in your home learning book.
Above all, look
after your health (including your mental health) by keeping your brain and body
as active as you can. Also don’t forget to help the adults out with a bit of
washing-up, sweeping up and other chores around the house!
